Liverpool have rejected Bayern Munich’s latest offer for Sadio Mané which would only reach £30 million should the German club win the Champions League, and the Senegal forward lift the Ballon d’Or, in each of the next three seasons.

Julian Ward, Liverpool’s new sporting director, is instead using £42.5 million as a benchmark figure for negotiations and has told Bayern there is no point holding face-to-face talks unless they are prepared to make a serious bid.

Bayern had a £25 million package rebuffed at the end of last week. In their second offer, the German champions have increased that opening gambit by £2.5 million, to a guaranteed fee of £23.5 million, and the add-ons by £2.5 million to £6.5 million.

However, the terms were swiftly rejected, with the nature of the bonuses deemed laughable by Anfield officials.

Mane did attract interest from clubs in Italy and Spain too, but he has made it clear to Liverpool that Bayern are the only club he wants to join - they in turn have told him he can only move if their valuation is met. Sources at both clubs remain 'confident' that the deal will happen, but a lot of work needs to be done - especially from Bayern's end to secure Mane's signature.

Nije Mane ni lud. Ovaj raspored u Premiershipu je doslovno opasan po zdravlje igrača. U Bundesligi igrač ima 4 ligaške utakmice manje, a osim toga igra se samo jedno domaće kup natjecanje. To je i do 10 utakmica manje. Sigurno i to ima utjecaja zašto npr Lewa igra ovako dobro u kasnim godinama.

A ovo je neka realnost (bar po meni). I dalje je to jedan od top 5 transfera igraca starijih od 30 godina u povijesti, tako nesto sam i ocekivao. Pretpostavljam da je bar 50% od bonusa dosta realno tako da to ispadne nekih 37 milijuna eura.
